How does it work?
Voice messages can be recorded human voice or can be created using Text-to-Speech technology. Outage Update can perform basic outbound notification as well. Messages are created using a simple user-interface website and are sent to customers as needed through an FTP (file transfer protocol) process. Outage Update automatically provides time-date stamped records the telephone numbers of all calls – incoming or outbound.
There is no database to match, and no integration required.
Utilities divide their service territories into geographic sections. In an outage, area-specific voice messages are posted by the utility, indicating restoration status. Messages can be quickly updated at any time, for any area, providing customers with accurate, reliable information as restoration efforts progress.
