TFCC Welcomes New UCS Client, City Utilities of Springfield, MO
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 30, 2007
Columbus, Ohio: Twenty First Century Communications is pleased to welcome City Utilities of Springfield. TFCC will provide its High Volume Call Answering Services (HVCA) to CU of Springfield, in contract now and expected to be in service by spring 2008.
To handle a mass power outage because of an ice storm or other event, City Utilities of Springfield has hired TFCC to handle up to 30,000 telephone calls an hour.
During the ice storm in last January, many customers were frustrated because they constantly got busy signals when they called to report an outage. Beginning next spring, when high volumes of calls come into its customer service center, CU’s system will automatically transfer calls to Twenty First Century Communications.
Also during that storm, CU found that many customers’ phone numbers did not match the service addresses in the utility’s computer system. Â
On Monday, December 3, City Utilities of Springfield began a direct mail and telephone campaign to verify the primary phone number, address of service, account number of over 90,000 electric customers.
Customers will also receive a brochure in the mail. The brochure asks customers to update their account information by calling (417) 874-8266, going to www.cityutilities.net to complete an information form, or returning a postage-paid direct mailing form.
Updated information received from customers will be entered into databases for use the event of outages.
